RCM:Phone operations
From RCMWiki
Most of the settings and functions are delegated to the RCM Server which stores all activity logs, contacts and phone usage policies. Once you have your hands over the phone, you can start using it right away without the need to make any initial settings:
- making and receiving calls
- synchronizing with RCM Server
- locking and unlocking the phone
Making and receiving calls
Each time you make or receive a call the calling limits will change respectively depending on whether it is a business or non-business call. When you hang up, a message will appear displaying call type and duration (see figure)
If the caller (or the person you call) is not in your address book, RCM will prompt you to select if this was a non-business (personal) or business call.
Synchronization with RCM Server
With RCM you may always be sure that your contacts are always secure and up-to-date thanks to synchronization option. Your address book is synchronized automatically on regular basis as defined by the RCM administrator. However, you may perform a manual synchronization (see figure).
To do so, click Sync icon in the main menu.
| Note For your own convenience you may perform manual updates once in a while. This way you will always be sure that your sensitive data will always be secure even if you lose the phone. |
Locking and unlocking the phone
At some instances you may want to have your phone locked. For example, when you leave for a vacation, you may want to temporarily disable your phone until you are back to the office.
Your phone may be locked if you report it as lost or stolen. The locked phone will display a message offering a reward for the return this phone to its owner.
To lock or unlock your phone, contact your RCM administrator.
