RCM:Step 1 - Setting company departments

At the first step you have to create departmens. Departments mirror company's structure. Each employee belongs to one and only one department.

Examples of departments:

  • Development
  • Marketing
  • Administration
  • Help desk

Note

RCM supports only one-level company structure. No sub-departments are supported.


To add a new department:

1. Click Departments link in the navigation menu.

2. Click Image:ICO_add_new_department.png New Department link in the action bar at the top.

3. Enter the department name in the Name field.

4. If necessary, define visibility settings in the two lists below:

  • Departments that will be able to see this new department
  • Departments that will be visible to the employees of this department

Note

Use Ctrl+left click or Shift+left click to select multiple departments.

You may set visibility later. To learn more about visibility settings, see Changing departments visibility.

5. Click Create to create a new department. A confirmation message will appear, and below you will see a list of existing departments.
